The Hobie T1 is a versatile, durable and easy-to-handle sport catamaran designed for sailing schools, clubs, families and recreational sailors. Its modern design and rotomolded polyethylene hulls provide durability and stability while maintaining an enjoyable and dynamic sailing experience.
The T1 has been designed with a strong focus on easy assembly, ergonomics and safety. Molded-in handles at the front and rear of the hulls make transportation easier, while waterproof inserts integrated into the hulls simplify crossbar installation.
The Hobie T1 is designed to be straightforward to rig and prepare for sailing. Integrated mounting points and ergonomic fasteners make assembly simple and convenient.
Molded-in front and rear carrying handles make transportation easier, while molded non-slip surfaces on the deck and seating areas provide additional grip and comfort while sailing.
The T1 hulls are manufactured from rotomolded polyethylene, providing a durable construction suitable for regular and intensive use.
This makes the T1 particularly suitable for sailing schools, clubs and recreational sailing. Integrated keel lines in the hulls provide directional stability without requiring separately installed daggerboards.
The Hobie T1 comes with a 9 m² Dacron mainsail, featuring full battens and reef points. The loose-footed, boomless design provides more open deck space for the crew.
A 2.25 m² Dacron jib is also included. For lighter crews, a smaller 7.20 m² “Mistral” mainsail is available as an option.
The Hobie T1 uses the EZ Loc rudder system, designed for straightforward and convenient rudder handling. The rudder blades are made from Lexan, while the aluminium tiller extension allows the helm to control the catamaran comfortably from different positions.
The T1 features a mesh trampoline attached to integrated side tracks in the hulls. It provides a comfortable working area for the crew while allowing water to drain easily.
The rear crossbar incorporates an integrated mainsail traveler track, making it possible to adjust the mainsail position and optimize the sail trim in different wind conditions.
The Hobie T1 incorporates several features designed to improve safety and ease of use:
molded non-slip surfaces;
integrated carrying handles;
waterproof mounting inserts;
mast float;
righting line;
EZ Loc rudder system.
The mast float assists with righting the catamaran after a capsize and helps prevent the mast from becoming completely submerged.
The Hobie T1 is an excellent choice for:
