HOBIE 15 – Versatile Sport Catamaran

Hobie 15 is a stable, reliable and easy-to-handle sport catamaran designed for sailing schools, family leisure, training and intensive recreational use. Its wide platform and excellent buoyancy provide a stable sailing experience, making it suitable for both beginners and more experienced sailors.

The catamaran features fiberglass/foam sandwich hull construction and is equipped with a mainsail and jib. The mainsail includes reefing points, allowing the sail area to be reduced when sailing in stronger wind conditions.

Stable and easy to sail

The Hobie 15 combines a wide platform with excellent buoyancy and forgiving sailing characteristics. This makes it particularly suitable for learning to sail and for recreational use.

Depending on the configuration and operating conditions, the Hobie 15 is specified for 3–4 crew members, making it suitable for individual training as well as family and group sailing.

Durable fiberglass hulls

The Hobie 15 features fiberglass/foam sandwich hull construction, providing a good balance between rigidity, durability and weight.

The hulls feature interchangeable keel protection, while anti-slip surfaces provide additional grip when moving around the catamaran platform.

Dacron sails with reefing capability

The Hobie 15 is equipped with coloured Dacron sails. The mainsail features reefing points, allowing the sail area to be reduced in stronger wind and helping the crew maintain better control of the catamaran.

The mainsail area is 11.5 m², while the jib is approximately 3–3.5 m², depending on the specific configuration.
