Canyak Beothuk - The world's first from Gatz-Kanus Gatz Kanus was unveiled at the boot 2016 and immediately caused a sensation. The shape of the boat is based on the canoes of the Canadian Beothuk tribe. The wide middle, combined with a lot of additional volume and side height, results in very high stability and maximum tipping safety and, above all, maintains the freeboard even when tilted. Canoes from the Canyak series can be paddled with either a single paddle (CAN) or a double paddle (YAK) or a combination of both. The Canyaks are equipped with comfortable and functional seats. These seats can also be replaced individually or completely with the Gatz multifunctional saddle seat (this information is required when ordering). The Beothuk is quick and easy to navigate with two people, but of course also solo (padded from the middle). Weight information is to be understood as approximate, since the type of seats chosen, which can be quickly and easily removed for transport, can cause the weight to vary.
CARBON-ULTRALIGHTWEIGHT CONSTRUCTION
The easiest way to experience a GATZ CANOE! High-tech fiber composite systems such as those used in aircraft construction and motorsports find their way into canoeing here. Carrying distances or charging are child's play thanks to weight savings of approx. 35%. You will also notice the difference on the water. In the ultralight series, some of the aramid fibers are replaced by high-strength carbon fibers. Accordingly, weight can be dispensed with through additional reinforcements. We recommend this series for use on lakes and unblocked streams, even though it can certainly handle more. Visually, the attractive anthracite-colored carbon fabric with the transparent gelcoat, visible layers and transitions characterizes this design. All other composite colors can also be selected as custom-made products, depending on the color pigment density (dark colors and mottled colors are an advantage here, as well as the size of the canoe, the thicker colored gelcoat layer can mean an additional weight of 1-2kg).
